Counselling in Hoppers Crossing

F.A.Q'S
Counselling & Life Coaching

Q: How long is each counselling session?
The first counselling session is 90 minutes, giving us space to explore what’s brought you here and lay a strong foundation.
Ongoing sessions are 60 minutes, providing time to work through what matters without feeling rushed.

Q: How many sessions will I need?
Everyone is different. Some people attend a few sessions during a challenging time, while others continue longer for deeper support. We’ll check in regularly and work at your pace.

Q: How much do sessions cost?
The initial 90-minute session is $150. This gives us extra time to explore what is bringing you to counselling or coaching and to begin building a strong foundation. All ongoing 60-minute sessions are $120. The fee is the same for both counselling and life coaching.

Q: How do I pay for sessions?
Payment is made at the time of booking through our secure online system. Most major credit cards are accepted. If you need to reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.

Q: What happens in the first counselling session?
The first session is all about getting to know you and what you need. You’ll have space to talk through what’s been going on, what’s feeling difficult, and what kind of support you’re looking for - all at your own pace.

Q: Is counselling confidential?
Yes — confidentiality is central to our work together. What you share stays private, with a few exceptions:
• If there is a risk of serious harm to you or someone else
• If your records are subpoenaed by a court of law
• If shared anonymously in professional supervision to ensure high standards of care
We’ll always explain this fully in your first session.

Q: Do you see men and women?
Yes, with supportive options tailored for comfort and privacy:
• Women: In-person counselling and coaching available in Hoppers Crossing
• Men: Sessions are offered only online via Zoom, from anywhere in Australia

Q: Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, online counselling and coaching are available across Victoria and Australia. Many clients find this flexible, effective, and just as personal as in-person sessions.

Q: What’s the difference between counselling and coaching?
Counselling is focused on emotional healing, processing past experiences, and supporting mental wellbeing.
Life coaching is about clarity, growth, and momentum — helping you move forward with confidence. If you’re unsure, we can help guide you to the best fit.

Q: How long are life coaching sessions?
The initial session is 90 mins and then the Coaching sessions are 60 minutes each. They’re focused, practical, and tailored to your goals — with time to reflect, strategise, and plan next steps. You can choose if you need session or want to check in regularly. We can work out a plan that works for you.

Q: Is coaching confidential too?
Yes — what you share in coaching is treated with full respect and privacy. While it doesn’t follow the same legal obligations as counselling, we hold confidentiality to the same high standard.

Do I need a referral from my GP?
No referral is required. You are welcome to book directly without needing to go through a doctor. This means you can access support sooner, with fewer steps.

Do I need private health insurance?
No. Our services are private-pay only. We do not require you to have private health insurance or go through Medicare. This allows you to access support confidentially, without needing a diagnosis or GP involvement.
